Cowgirl Collection “Pathfinders Part 2”
May 13th, 2021 Release
When the fabric swatches for the next Autumn Winter collection arrived from India, in the parcel we wait patiently for, never really knowing when it will exactly turn up, I skipped a step. As I opened the parcel, here were these beautiful fabrics from far-flung corners of India, places not yet visited.
I had only seen the swatches via late night WhatsApp-ing. The new way of picking what’s in and what’s out for a new collection. This was something new, which we hadn’t work with before, something original for a trans-seasonal time of year, the shift from hot, warm and cold.
I instantly loved the simplified plant and object motifs, craved out into wooden blocks, stamped onto hardwearing cotton, in shades of indigo blue’s and terracotta, we complemented this with blanket stitch in deep ocean and rust, drawing out the hand touch that is found in India.
The prints are reminiscent of tribal festivals, celebrations, and trading fairs. Our interpretation here Downunder is the Cowgirl, a woman who never gives up on her dreams, celebrates the land and the work she wants to complete.
The new collection in Autumnal shaded block prints, cut into Naudic classic shapes, Sangria skirts, Lulu long sleeve, Sao Paulo Maxi, Matilda tops and new favourite shape Amisha Maxi in Chocolate, Black and Deep Navy, online from Thursday 13th May.
Enjoy the Pathfinders Part 2 “Cowgirl Collection”.
