The hush of winter has its own quiet beauty, but there’s a precise moment on North Stradbroke Island when the season turns and today I felt it.
A warmer breeze skims the pandanus, sunlight lingers that little bit longer and every colour is clearer.
That instant of renewal is the heartbeat of Naudic’s new Sun Weaver collection.

Each season I leave city and travel noise behind and retreat to Straddie to reset. Sunrise starts are a ritual: bare-foot walks along Home Beach, the sand still cool underfoot; up to Point Lookout, where the sun rises and the ocean glitters. I call it “watching the movie of sunrise” the sky flips frames from deep indigo to sherbet pink, mango, then a burst of coral. It’s pure, cinematic colour therapy.

Afternoons wander along inland tracks, wild flowers on either side, banksias shine against grey tea-tree trunks. Later, sitting on a rock and weather beaten benches, I sketch as the sun drips bronze across the water. These moments weave their way into prints, embroidery motifs and palette decisions long before a single sample is cut.

Sun-Weaver our first drop of Spring, translates that Straddie magic into pieces that carry you effortlessly from the last cool days of winter into the first sun-kissed weekends of spring: Cotton voile dresses in marine blues and sunset pinks echo the shifting seasons. Wear them with tights now or let your bare legs breathe. Billowing, tasselled blouses borrow their airy volume from sea breezes; embroidery references the island’s florals.

Why “Sun-Weaver”?
Because every thread is a strand of light captured. The collection celebrates the weaving together of seasons, of cool and warmth, of the island’s raw coastline and its calm inland lagoons. It’s a reminder that renewal is cyclical and so is our wardrobe. As you slip into these pieces, imagine standing on Straddie headland at dawn: sand between toes, first light painting the Pacific, and a promise of brighter days woven right into the fabric. Welcome to spring.
